Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) just made his first public appearance at Binance Blockchain Week Dubai after a four-month prison sentence.

CZ, who served time for anti-money laundering violations, found some surprising moments in prison. One highlight? Guards asking for his crypto advice. “I better not pick the wrong coin,” he joked on stage with Altcoin Daily’s Austin Arnold.

While reflecting on his time in prison, CZ said it gave him “a lot of time to refocus on what matters,” especially family, friends, and the crypto community.

Though he’s stepping back from Binance’s day-to-day, CZ is looking ahead, focusing on investing, launching Giggle Academy, and staying “very, very bullish” on the future of crypto.
